Women’s Support Wishlist

As a community based, not-for-profit, non-government charitable institution, Blue Wren House – Camden Women’s Shelter Inc (BWHCWS) will rely on the ongoing generosity of the local community. While Women will be expected to contribute towards rent and food costs, we would love to develop long-term partnerships for regular donations of consumable items such as:

  • Fruit & vegetables
  • Meat, Fish, Poultry
  • Grocery items
  • Paper towel, toilet paper, baby wipes etc
  • Toiletries
  • Stationery and office supplies
  • Detergent and cleaning products

There are always more specific items that crop up so please let us know if you have other items to donate that are not on the list.

Women entering the shelter will do so with limited personal or household items.

On arriving at the Shelter we would like them to feel at home as quickly as possible by giving them a basket of new items that are theirs to keep. We will need an ongoing supply of items such as:

  • Laundry basket, sheets, towels toiletries etc.
  • A handmade quilt and a ‘cuddly’ (textured comforter) for each family member
  • Plus school & sport items as appropriate.

The support of Blue Wren House continues until a woman (and her children) are safe and well in long term independent accommodation. Shelter staff along with local Domestic and Family Violence support workers will continue to assist the woman for as long as she feels necessary.

Local support organisations and the broader community can also play a role by assisting with securing a lease, acquiring furniture items, linen kitchen and laundry items, linen etc.

She will also require assistance and support to obtain employment, training and further education.

If you are able to assist in any way, regardless of how small please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Blue Wren House Camden Women’s Shelter.
